A rare opening exists for a Head of Communications to join our iconic ASX 200 client, who is also a leader in their sector and a household name in Australia.
As the communications lead, this newly created role has been designed to further drive internal engagement across a national audience of 4,500 people, largely dispersed across approximately 600 sites nationally.
With an initial focus on internal communications, as a trusted advisor to the senior leaders within the business you will also start to build and expand their external communications journey, developing the external narrative to modestly showcase their demonstrable success.
As a leader of a small team, you will provide fresh and innovative approaches to the organisation’s communications strategies and be an integral linchpin between corporate head office and their national network. Above all however, it will be your display of empathy, customer led focus and commercial rigour that has been the cornerstone to your success.
With enviable scope and breadth across both internal (70%) and external (30%) communications, the position requires a true leader of people, a team player and collaborator who is astute, proactive, influential and dynamic in their approach. Whilst you are known for your internal communications prowess but you can turn your hand to media relations, PR and issues and crisis management when required. You have the ability to understand, engage and mobilise a diverse and disparate workforce but further, you relish in generating engaging content and storytelling with measureable results.
Arriving with rich communications experience that may have been gained within, but not limited to FMCG, Retail or Supply Chain sectors, it will be the combination of your strategic yet practical and pragmatic thinking that will ensure success in this role.
Preferably tertiary qualified in Communications, PR and/or Journalism, your considered and hands-on approach and inside out approach will be most highly regarded.
